Bush Poets Breakfast

The Ipswich Historical Society is proud to announce that Bush Poets from around South-East Queensland will be performing at Cooneana Heritage Centre on Saturday 15 March 2025 from 9am. 

The poets will recite their own bush poetry or read familiar poems by well-known authors.
Bush poetry strikes a chord with Australians of all ages and these poets are keen to share their love of the rhymes and imagery of their poems.  On the right is a poem that conjures up very visual images - The Old Bark School by Henry Lawson. 

The Bush Poets Breakfast will be held outside - weather permitting - and your breakfast is included in the attendance tickets.

Don't miss this chance to celebrate the words and virtual images of our bush poets.  Audience members who wish to try out their own poem are welcome to perform it! Just write your name on the blackboard.

Ticket prices are $15.00 per person with breakfast included. Our members are preparing to serve a breakfast to remember on presentation of your ticket.  Bookings are required by Saturday 8 March for catering purposes, so don't delay - book today!
